It is likely an issue with your printer (eg overheated, bad read of file, etc). Or with the slicing. I would suggest troubleshooting starting with the file that was sent to the printer. If it is just gcode, then import that gcode and see if it only is 3/4 of the model, if so then check slicer settings and make sure you may not have copied the file prematurely. Midi Studio Software.
I have done that, where I pulled SD card out too early and was surprised that only 50% of file copied over. If the file is good then confirm there are no issues with your printer (ie try another large model) We know its not the model as this is one of the great flagship designs that we all use to show off how great 3D printing is to our friends and family. Love this thing but it is a pain in the butt to print. I'm using Simplify3D, a MakerGear M2, pla and with zero infill.
I've tried with painter's tape, with hair spray, and using a raft and scafolding. Ultimately a piece becomes loose while printing and either breaks off or is damaged. I did get one print with some minor leg damage and a minor broken tusk - but the legs worked and my granddaughter loved it:-) If anyone has an M2 or can just give me suggestion it would be appreciated - I am very green with 3d printing.
I really liked the look of this part, so I printed the small version first, with the intention to print a 70% scaled version of the larger one next. My printer is well controlled, with little backlash etc, but the joint gaps at the small scale result an a lot of fusing. Having said that, 30 minutes with a small scalpel loosened the legs and head joints.
I am pleased to say that the leg joints pivot well on their axles, but I was disappointed to discover, using netfabb, that the pivot point for the head is not in the middle of the radius, so it will never move by more than the small gap will allow. Groove B Chill Starting From Zero Rar more. It's a 9/10 generally, with 2/10 for the head.
