Summary Of Issue: Fonts used by customer do not display correctly in PDF. Specifically bold text does not remain bold. Root Cause: Customer is using traditional Chinese as language set. Font family corresponding to the same available by default are SimSun and SimHei.SimSun font is not supported on ADOBE READER hence do not show up in PDF. Suggestions: We advised customer to use some other font that meets the requirement. Support tested 25 fonts and out of them two did show up correctly in PDF. Discussion with Expert: In a situation where a Windows font doesn't have a bold typeface included, like with SimSun, there is no guarantee that you would get a bold font in your PDF output, just because you have hit the bold button in designer.
This is not a hard and fast rule, we make every effort to do this, and with some fonts we succeed, but sometimes this cannot be accomplished, and this isn't restricted to double byte fonts. So this is limitation of Doc1 that not every font can be supported.
