It takes me a LONG time on difficult material. For example, I've been lifting three part harmonies out of mono mixed stuff of mine from the 60s over the past few months. I've had some degree of success getting bass guitar out of many things. And then, on a lot of stuff, I've just had to experiment with how/what to extract on sections that work in the best way.
