Digimon Adventure was released for the PSP on January 17, 2013 in Japan. Developed by Prope, it was one of the games released by Namco Bandai Games in celebration of the franchise’s 15th anniversary. If you’ve never watched Digimon Adventure (the first season), something is incredibly wrong with you. The original anime still holds up today. There’s a reason why it was such a hit with many fans. It had a well-rounded cast of characters who discovered a little bit about themselves and through the help of their Digimon partners, grew and developed, all while trying to protect both their world and the Digital World from evil Digimon. It’s an easy story to follow and heavy on adventure and fantasy, which made it appropriate to turn into an RPG. Some of the episodes from the show are split into more than one chapter in the game.
There are even small episodes added in during the Vamdemon (Myotismon) arc that weren’t in the anime. There are also plenty of sidequests that expand a bit on the chapters and characters. After beating the main storyline, the game jumps immediately into Our War Game, the second Digimon movie involving the battle against Diaboromon on the Internet, as well as the first appearance of Omegamon (Omnimon). Because of this sudden jump, it doesn’t feel like a year has passed like it was in the movie. All the characters’ models and portraits are the same as the show, but not like in the movie, so that was a little disappointing.
